My baby girl, Anaih, was born with Polycystic Kidney Disease. Anaih is currently five years old. September 2018 Ani received a kidney transplant. During the waiting years, Ani has had many hospitalizations. Some stays at the hospital were short while others were long. The staff from Chase Child Life program have been really good to my daughters and me. I remember one of the longest stays we had in the UCLA hospital was five months. We met Rebecca from Child Life.
Rebecca would come by the NICU and check on Ani. Later we met Stephanie and Christine. They are wonderful with Ani. Child Life brings her lots of joy. They would come before Ani had a procedure and go in with her to keep her calm until Ani was asleep. They make sure we are both okay. I remember a certain hospitalization Ani had. Ani was really overwhelmed. She was not letting me even leave her side. Christine came by to stay and play with my baby and gave me some time to go get lunch. And then we got to meet Rachel too. They helped Ani both in the hospital and during our clinic visits. Ani became super close friends with them both. Christine continues to check frequently on Ani during hospitalizations to make sure she is doing ok and has times to play. The also ask about my other daughter how she is doing. They don't leave out
siblings which is super nice for siblings. Thank you Chase Child Life for being such a wonderful program! They have truly made a difference in my baby's life!
